I am Chipo Zhou, a film festival curator with over 14 years of experience working in various capacities in the film industry. Throughout my career, I have consistently supported indigenous talent growth and enabled access to audiences and aspirant filmmakers from historically marginalised communities through a variety of initiatives. I’ll be teaching Marketing and Distribution to help students build the strategic skills necessary to apply emerging film financing models and markets and to engage audiences in a dynamic, rapidly evolving global entertainment industry. We’ll examine both traditional and contemporary business models in the filmmaking process, considering technological advances, digital media networks, and opportunities to monetise content on platforms other than traditional cinema.
