Fiona is in the process of focusing her longstanding fascination with the workings of language, society and power on to how these issues play out within contemporary media.  She has particular interest in the fields of multi-modal literacies, and the implications of the new media for education.  Additionally, she is highly motivated to build deeper understandings of the complexities, challenges and rewards of cross-cultural communication in contemporary society. She is currently working on her PhD and hopes to complete it soon.
