Claire Scott joined the Media & Cultural Studies department in 2005 and has recently completed her PhD, which examines issues of 'whiteness' in literary-journalistic texts by South African journalists. She lectures in a range of areas at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including media history and development, representation, and corporate communication. Her research interests concern the representation of South African identity in popular culture, issues of genre and literary-journalism, and whiteness studies.
